What People Are Saying Continued…
“Katie has the skill set you need.. I have known Katie Shea for over a decade and have been continuously impressed with her care and expertise in infant and early childhood development. Not only is Katie an expert in caring for people she is also an excellent musician. She is the resource you want in your home when you are preparing to have your child and after your child is born. When I became pregnant, it was Katie who I called for advice, guidance, and resources. Katie set me up with an incredible birth doula and talked with me about the latest research in prenatal and postnatal care. We spoke constantly about the importance of music in young children's lives, and it is a recording of Katie's beautiful voice that I play as one of my child's nighttime lullabies. Today, I have a one-year-old and Katie is still the first person I call with any questions about my child's development. As the director of an early childhood music program, I can attest that Katie has the skill set you need in your home when you are bringing a new child into this world.”

“Katie was exactly what my husband and I needed to help us get through the first few months of being new parents. My baby and I had an unexpected rough start but Katie’s skills and knowledge in infant care and postpartum recovery, along with her warm and kind personality, made our healing process much smoother. She cared for us like we were her own family and always made herself available to our many questions. Most importantly, she empowered us with her education and made us feel more comfortable and confident in our ability to care for our little one. We are so thankful for our experience with Katie.”

“Katie has many nicknames among my family such as “the baby whisperer” and the “baby master”. It’s entrancing to watch Katie with children; it’s like she has an anointing. Katie isn’t just passionate about children, though. She is incredibly dedicated to the mother and the entire family. She has this sixth sense for anticipating everyone’s needs and skillfully directs everyone to learn how to best work together both before and after the baby arrives.
I started my journey with Katie when I was pregnant. I was a first time mother and the pregnancy was not planed, so I was a bit nervous and unprepared about what to expect with pregnancy and babies! Katie spent hours learning about me and gave me endless invaluable tips on how to prepare for our baby. She also came over to help me set things up for my son’s arrival and made sure I had every little thing we could possibly need; this was a huge relief for me, especially in my nesting phase! Also, Katie is incredibly well connected, so whenever I needed a resource or referral she knew someone that could help.
Katie was a rock to me after my son arrived. I was having a really difficult time figuring out breast feeding. Katie sat with me for several breastfeeding coaching sessions until my son and I got the hang of it. She also was available 24/7 to answer questions or provide emotional support. Katie would show up no matter the hour (traveling from the top of one borough to the opposite edge of another) to be present with us when we needed her. She taught us how to change diapers (the right way, so it doesn’t leak), she made sure I could sleep, made sure everyone was fed, and simply observing her interacting with our son gave us an example of how to handle and care for him confidently. I think she is the closest thing to a fairy godmother that one could ever experience on this earth.
Katie is incredible with communication and she is filled with authentic care and love for everyone. She has made a huge impact in my life and in my family - we are eternally grateful.”

“ The arrival of our third child was a stressful time. After my c-section, our son was in the NICU for a week. Once we got him home, our younger daughter was diagnosed with the flu. Fresh from surgery, I was running between rooms, changing my clothes every time, sanitizing myself, to alternately comfort our daughter and try to nurse and bond with our new son. Soon after, Covid hit and, afraid for our newborn and my husband's compromised lungs, we had to leave the city. When I say that Katie made us feel calm, held, and supported through this extraordinary time, I am not exaggerating. She brings soothing, positive energy to everything she does. She cooked nourishing food for us, made sure I ate and rested, provided the space for protected sleep for my husband, and made my older children feel loved when I was with their brother and unable to give them the attention they needed. She even helped us pack up our family of five and move out of the city, riding in the car with us to ensure everyone was cared for. And a million other things that made our lives not only easier, but happier. Needless to say, my gratitude to Katie is endless. She will always be part of our family and I thank my lucky stars she came into our lives.”
